Stewarding Creation - the Land

Another part of stewarding creation is to pray for the land - the ground itself and areas of land. The land becomes burdened with guilt when innocent blood is spilled into it and sins are committed on it (Genesis 4:10-12; Leviticus 18:24-28). The spiritual condition of the land is often quite evident in the natural. In regions where much innocent blood has been spilled and much sin has taken place, the region can be in a state of desolation, disarray, and recurring difficulty.

This is shown in the Bible. The ground responded to the killing of Abel by absorbing his blood, which resulted in it being even more difficult for guilty men to be in fruitful relationship with creation (Genesis 4:10-12). Even the land has its limit to how much nastiness it can bear: Leviticus 18:24-28 "...keep My statutes...[don't] commit any of these abominations....lest the land vomit you out also".

Strategy for Prayer for the Land

"Start at the Beginning..."

As we, the sons of God (John 1:12), move about the earth, we can redeem the land by the Blood of Jesus. God taught Henry Gruver (pictured) that it is possible for us to remit the sins of the past (Romans 3:24-26) by the power of the shed Blood of Jesus Christ and then cleanse the land by applying the Blood of Jesus to it to remove the guilt that it is holding. We can then declare that it is free, and proclaim that it is part of the Kingdom of God (Lev 25:23-24; Psalm 2:8), in the name of Jesus. This is a deep layer of prayer that addresses the beginning of trouble in a region.

God has shown me, in the putting together of this website, that this same prayer is needed for rivers and bodies of water, and the atmosphere, and now that we have ventured into space around this earth - that too. Henry Gruver has a life-time of testimonies of how such prayer has changed regions, opened up nations, shifted territories, and softened the hearts of the people living and working in these regions to respond to the workings of the Holy Spirit to bring them into beautiful relationship with their Creator, their Heavenly Father.

Holy Spirit will then expand your prayer to accomplish His purposes. My prayer for the Body of Christ for years has been "Anointing, teach us!" This prayer came in response to 1 John 2:27 "But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him." I find that Anointing shows me what He wants for me to learn, when He wants for me to learn it. Sometimes He shows me directly, as with the mosquitos. Sometimes He shows me testimony or teaching from those who have come before. Bring it to Him, He always confirms. Jesus is not worried.

Clean up and Protection After a Land Assignment

After praying over a region, it is important to pray over yourself and your group a cleansing prayer. It is also important, especially if praying with a group, to ask Jesus to disconnect all connections made, and reconnect through His Blood only the connections that He desires for you.

West Coast Journey: First land assignment when I didn't know that was a thing

In 2017, God called my brother, our friend, and myself to travel and pray up the west coast of the States, from border to border. The focus was prayer that the Holy Spirit would move across this nation. In late November, at the border in California, we were first met with death and infirmity. A seal was dead on the beach and an injured (sick?) seagull was struggling to move toward the water.

After setting a specific stake in the sand, blowing shofars, declaring God's Truths, and praying as directed, an unexpectedly large wave came, with the distinct feeling it was saying "Hello!" After this photo was highlighted to several people for unknown reasons, finally one person said, "There's a Lion in the middle!" And sure enough, there He is.... determined.... focused.... unstoppable

We were led to stop in Long Beach and ended up here, at the Queen Mary and a former Soviet submarine. There was serious prayer over the ocean itself. This was my first introduction to prayer for land or bodies of water. Several of our intercessors had had dreams and words they sent us later that night about cruise ships and burly blond curly-headed crewmen.

Life was beginning to be shown to us. A fluffy, healthy racoon was finding a meal among the rocks just in front of us. While we were praying for the nation, God was also teaching us to pray for His creation.

We traveled to San Francisco, and joined with other intercessors there. We knew we were praying for the Fire to fall, the Western gate to be opened, and the Glory of God to be released and flow from west to east - for our nation, for the Body of Christ, for the church in America - and then to the world.

There was powerful prayer on the headlands north of San Francisco looking across the Bay over the city. There was a lot of angelic activity, plainly visible to four of us in the group. We knew this was a focal point of the prayer journey.

"Go to Clearwater in Florida by Passover"

In 2021, God took us from San Diego to Florida for specific prayer. We did make it to Clearwater by Passover, miraculously. And prayed in the way that God directed there. In a few days, we knew to go to the southernmost point in the continental US.

As we entered Key West, a friend in Sacramento called and said, "God is establishing your circumference of influence." This bothered me, because the phrase is "sphere of influence...", but God knew what He was doing.

I watched this interesting sky develop over the wetlands in Florida. Several people have since told me of angels they see in the clouds in this photo. One is a big bright angel singing over the land... The rainbow is like the nose piece of an ancient helmet.

In Florida, God told us to go to Maine. We started traveling up the east coast states. Whew! Maine is far, it's really far.

George Washington Masonic National Memorial in Alexandria VA

God brought the Freemasons to our attention, starting in North Carolina. In Alexandria, VA, God had us go to the Masonic Washington Memorial. Talking with the Freemason at the door, I was prompted to ask what level mason George Washington had been. He replied, "Oh! He was just a standard third level." Instantly, I knew that although George Washington had joined, he was not in the deep of it.

God further revealed that the Freemasons tried to usurp the honor of George Washington and influence the work that God was establishing in this nation through him, connecting themselves to him, building large and prominent memorials to him, setting themselves on top, as though they were a part of what God was doing through George Washington.

There was lots of prayer in Washington DC, including circling the Supreme Court building.

Prayer for Territories: Additional Teaching and Testimony

God is still teaching me about the differences, if any, between territorial spirits, strongholds over regions, and principalities and powers, like the prince of Persia in Daniel 10:13. I understand fully, however, that Jesus Christ is far and above every might, dominion, every name that is named, and is the head of all principality and power (Colossians 2:10). I trust that Jesus will walk with me, if He takes me into a situation of prayer regarding principality and power. Henry Gruver has a specific caution about this kind of prayer. He says that it is important that there be a strong church body in the regions that God has you go into and pray regarding strongholds or principalities, so that what the prayer accomplishes will be maintained. This is not unlike the caution that Jesus gives on a personal level in Matthew 12:43-45. It is important to fill the newly cleaned house with the Holy Spirit, so that the unclean spirit can't come back and bring his friends. By the way, I always seal those unclean spirits in the Blood of the Lamb and send them to the feet of Jesus, so that they are not just wandering around the parking lot. Similarly, Jesus describes the strongman in Luke 11:21-22, happily keeping his house, until a stronger man comes and displaces him. Of course, Jesus is the Stronger Man, and He keeps the former strongman from retaking the house. I believe the principle that Jesus teaches at this more individual level applies throughout whatever spiritual levels exist. Jesus easily displaces unclean spirits of ALL kinds. He has already defeated them utterly, there is no fight. And Jesus is perfectly able to maintain the victory. We were given the authority on earth to bind the strongman in Jesus name (Matthew 18:18), and declare that Jesus is the Stronger Man. Henry Gruver recognizes that this declaration needs to be maintained. We stand with Jesus, and having done all, to stand (Ephesians 6:13). And this circles us back to why we put on the armor of God every day, because we wrestle not with flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this age, spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. The defeating and tearing down of these is one thing. But we also need to listen to God about what happens next. Perhaps to set a heavenly guard over a place, perhaps to fill the atmosphere with worship and praise to the Only True God 24/7, perhaps to anoint a place with oil, establish a Blood line around a place, set up on-going intercessory prayer, or have communion with the land. How does God want us to stand in and maintain the territories that He brings us into to retake for the Kingdom of God? He has to tell you what He wants for each place.

In searching for teachings of Arthur Burk, I came to the following excerpt that I felt would be valuable here. I advise that with this (and all information presented everywhere!), take it to God, ask Him to cover it in the Blood of the Lamb, and ask Holy Spirit to show you what He wants you to see and what to do with it.

We are to come into unity with Christ and He brings us into unity with the Body of Christ, where we each are unique, each with callings and focus and instruction and revelation that may be different from each other, but work together to accomplish God's purposes.

Prayer For Regions: Additional Tools

This book by John Eckhardt came into critical play at a point when we knew we were to pray concerning leviathan. According to the Bible, leviathan is dealt with by Almighty God, not us. In this book, John Eckhardt shows how to PRAY ONLY SCRIPTURE concerning leviathan (pg 69). We prayed through those scriptures that day, and within 5 minutes, friends in Florida called, saying the Lord had told them to call us immediately. We did not tell them what we had just been doing. They said they saw leviathan stretched from the north to the south of the East Coast of the US, and God had cut off the head of leviathan in Florida. I immediately thought, "Dear Lord, protect us!" Unknown to our friends, we were on the northeast coast of the US. I did not want to be caught in the thrashing of the tail of a dying leviathan. Our friend continued, "...and God is holding down its tail." Thank You, Heavenly Father, for confirmation of the effects of our prayer and for protecting us.

All the preceding cautions apply here also. Do not forget to pray covering before and cleansing after you pray! Take all information to Holy Spirit and ask what to do with it. The safest place is indeed in doing what God tells you to do, as swiftly and exactly as you can. And God gives Grace.
