Learn More - Our Name

Late in 2024, the Lord told me to start a new ministry, and that the name would be based on the phrase “two wings of a great eagle” from Revelation 12:14. Why this phrase? In Revelation 12:14, the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, so that she could fly to her place in the wilderness, where she is nourished for time, times, and half-a-time, from the face of the serpent. 

I believe that the woman represents the Body of Christ. The phrase 'time, times, and half-a-time' for me is a period that will be particularly difficult, but we will be brought through, described several times in scripture, like in Daniel 7:25.  And the place in the wilderness is hers, “the place of her”, "prepared for her by God" (Revelation 12:6). She knows this place, she has been introduced to this place before she had need of it.  And she went there a couple of times in great need in Revelation. It might look like a wilderness to outsiders, but is a place of nourishment and safety to her. My feeling is that in addition to this being an actual place, it is also a positioning of the Body of Christ, a stance, a way of operating.  

The woman is nourished there in the wilderness, and in Revelation 12:16 the ground itself rises up to protect her from the attempts of the serpent to wipe her out, “But the earth helped the woman…” 

I believe that one reason the Lord is calling us to return to the first works, is so that we will be in position to come through any tough season, especially anything resembling a “time, times, and half-a-time”, and be actively nourished and protected by creation in it.  It is critical that we not be at war with creation, especially now. We need to be in our proper position stewarding creation, cleansing the land and proclaiming the gospel to all creation. Being in right relationship with creation, so creation can be in right relationship with us.

Wings of Eagles was my first thought.  For the name. But there are many, many companies, songs, groups, organizations, and associations with that name/title and many variations of it, most referring to the very familiar verse Isaiah 40:31 “…they shall mount up with wings as eagles” and the renewing of strength. I went back to Revelation and asked the Lord to show me more.

“Two wings of a great eagle” I got stuck on the 'Two'. Two Eagle Wings seemed reasonable, but I knew it wasn’t right. The Lord told me to look up the verse in the Greek, and it immediately struck me that it is “THE great eagle” in the Greek –not just 'like an eagle', not just any eagle, but a specific eagle. And that the Greek word used, translated 'great', is megas. STRONGS NT 3173 in Bible Hub lays it out in full: the word megas carries much more than just ‘great’. It does have to do with large size, but also abundance, elder age, violence, might, strength, eminence, importance, “something higher, more exalted, more majestic than the temple, to wit, the august person of Jesus the Messiah and his preeminent influence.” 

I knew the name was to be Mega Eagle Wings. 

In May 2015, a guest speaker spoke a word from the Lord over me, which included the instruction to “love your neighbor as yourself…like a laser sniper for the Lord”….and in this to “become intercession.” It took me several months of pondering this to realize I did not know what intercession was. I knew it was praying for people, but I also knew it was more or different than my current understanding of prayer. I knew Jesus intercedes for us before the Throne. I asked my newly found home-church Pastor what intercession was. He said shortly, “If you don’t know, then it wasn’t it.”  And walked away!  Very uncharacteristic, for anyone who knows him. 

I kept after it, and December 26, 2015, the Lord showed me what intercession was. The Lord had made me know that I was going to be praying for a young man, who was a Christian, but was so harassed by demons that he had gradually become homeless somewhere in the Bay Area.  He was “not allowed” to interact with anyone in his family, then also “not allowed” to interact with anyone who knew his family.  He never took off his clothes, because he would not have “been allowed” to put them back on. There was more and further restriction and bondage.  He was in such despair from this harassment that he had vowed to take his life by the New Year.  I knew I was going to pray for him for three days. I got my Bible, a box of Kleenex, and a pen and notepad. I knelt at the foot of my bed – and God took it from there. I was on the floor, weeping, fasting, crying out to God, travailing, writing down things God told me, reading scriptures God told me to, until I was released, three days later. 

Ohhhhhh……THAT'S intercession.

God accomplished so much in those three days, as only He can. Not only did He give me my first lesson, but that young man reported in January 2016 that “the demons were dropping off of him.” I am not a person who fasts, but I learned that when God takes me into a fast, it is not a problem. A few months later, God told me to write up the notes I had taken, and He brought them together into a legislative intercession for the Body of Christ for mental health, so that we can pray, so that we can know God, so that we come fully into our identity as sons of God.  Super interesting! That young man was finally living with his grandmother later in the year, and is now very much with his family.
